REVIEW -
Planetrider – Travel Portal with rated sites. www.planetrider.com is a wonderful personal travel search engine, dedicated to supplying the best travel sites.
They provide a destination section, whereby the reader can select multiple sites pertaining to location. These offered sites are rated with one to three balloons, indicating favorites. Upon clicking on some of their offerings, we found most of the sites to be good ones.
For the most part, these are sites one would find on their own. Some of these linked sites were no longer active, which was a disappointment. Planetrider does however, cut to the chase and allow you to get your information faster. They claim to have "bushwhacked through the chaos" and for the most part they have accomplished their goal. In addition to destination sites, they cover activities, landscapes, maps and weather.
Planet rider link to the local tourism sites and has a good grasp on the hotel-specific sites as well. Overall we found this site to be of help when planning a trip. They offer a great deal of information, feeling more like a travel portal than a destination site.
